Mexico
It is neither intensely cold nor exaggeratedly warm, weather in Mexico City presents moderate temperatures with an annual average of 16º C, and this lukewarm weather is courtesy of its 2250 metres above sea level, and of the geography protecting it from excessive winds and humidity.

Summer’s warmest months are April and May, when thermometers reach temperatures of up to 31º C, but not everything is sun in the Aztec capital, because there are sporadic storms, which do not pose a real threat if one takes precautionary measures, in July and August. Winter is between December and February with average temperatures of 20º C during the day; although it drops up to 0º C during the night.

Tourist high season coincides with the dry season, from November to June; however, it is not foolish to visit Mexico City during the rainy season; because, although precipitations come in the form of torrential rain showers, they usually do not last long.

Tequisquiapan, place with crystal clear air and sparkling thermal waters.

Tequisquiapan is located in the State of Queretaro 188 km from Mexico City by the federal highways 57D and 120 in Mexico.
A beatiful place that you can not miss it!

tequis.jpgA little of history…
Before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadores, the area now occupied by what’s now the town of Tequisquiapan was commonly known as “Tequesquiatlapan,” meaning “River with carbontated water.” Today, Tequisquiapan is a tourist town a weekend retreat for hundreds of chilangos (Mexico City residents) who come for its crystal clear air and sparkling thermal waters.

During much of the Pre-Hispanic period, the valley of Tequisquiapan was more than just a village. The great Nahua and Chichimeca chieftains acknowledged the importance of the place.

According to the local chronicler, Jesus Landaverde Chavez, the lords of Jilotepec frequented the natural springs and fountains of Tequisquiapan only during very special occasions. Upon arriving , they would take a bath in the thermal waters of one of its numerous springs, during which they would deal with affairs of state and settle mild disputes among themselves. More!!

Coyoacan, place in complete harmony

Coyoacan has a surface of 54.4 sq. km. that represents 3.6% of the area (surface) of Mexico City. It is thought that Coyoacan was occupied 22 thousand years ago by nomad & hunters until the year 3,000 b.c. when there was no longer anything to hunt, so they turned to growing corn and raising turkeys, dogs and ducks.

coyoacan.JPGDown a cobblestone street lined with stately mansions, the visitor enters this world of beautiful plazas, art galleries, restaurants and picturesque hustle and bustle. Its privileged location led to its eminence as a pre-Hispanic center founded on the shores of the ancient lake, seat of government during the reconstruction of Tenochtitlan and home to magnificent residences grouped around the 16th Century Franciscan cloister. It is here, around the atrium of the Saint John the Baptist church, where the social life of Coyoacan unfolds, enriched by cafés, bars, bookstores, museums and the colorful festivals which culminate in the tumultuous grito ceremony celebrating Mexico’s independence on the 16th of September.

Everyday life in Coyoacan evolves in complete harmony with its visitors. Suffice to say that Coyoacan played host to Leon Trotski, or that such celebrated people as Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Celia Nutall and Salvador Novo all called Coyoacan home. Their presence can still be felt, not only in their former residences, but in the intense cultural life that pervades the atmosphere among the theaters, institutes and galleries. In Coyoacan can be found unique museums such as the Anahuacalli, created by Diego Rivera as his personal tribute to the pre-Hispanic world; the Culturas Populares Museum, a showcase for the lavish manifestations of the Mexican character, or the extraordinary Museo de las intervenciones, at Churubusco neighborhood.

Coyoacan is part of Mexico City
and envolves residential areas as well as first quality services such as Plaza Coyoacan Shopping Centre, the Olimpic pool an Gym and an excellent park for trainners (Viveros). If you are a cinema lover Cineteca Nacional has four theatres devoted to a mexican and international selection of films. Art in capital letters can be enjoyed at the National Arts Centre where Dance, Theatre and Classical Music have their contemporary homage.
