Angostura

DESCRIPTION

Wide coastlines, lagoons, estuaries and an extraordinary biodiversity make up the municipality of Angostura, a natural paradise that seduces with its wide beaches, where the water and sand serve as a natural habitat for numerous waterbirds that have found here their particular Eden. The municipality of Angostura is located in the north-central part of the state of Sinaloa. It was established as a municipality in 1916 due to the economic importance it had achieved through its agriculture. Holy Week is another of Angostura’s greatest traditions, when people visit its pristine beaches.

BAHÍA DE SANTA MARÍA Entering Bahía Santa María you can feel the rich marine climate and, at a short distance, a myriad of islands with abundant vegetation form part of Angostura’s treasures. It is the nesting ground for thousands of birds of different species, which are born, grow and reproduce in the same place. One of the islands most visited by tourists.

ISLA ALTAMURA The island is formed mostly by immense sand dunes; it also has green areas and small surrounding islets. The coasts facing the open sea offer powerful waves, excellent for surfing or jet skiing, while the side facing the bay is ideal for relaxing under the sun.

PATOLANDIA One of the most prestigious hunting reserves in the state, where the abundance of ducks, doves and the lush surrounding vegetation create an exceptional setting in which to get lost. The hunting season begins in early November and runs until late February.
