↗Bacalar
Bacalar, in the Grand Costa Maya south of Quintana Roo, is known for its Lagoon of Seven Colours. Its name is believed to come from a Maya word referring to the reeds around the lagoon. The town's historic importance earned it Mexico's Pueblo Mágico designation.
↗Cancún
White-sand beaches, turquoise water and offshore coral reefs make Cancún one of Mexico's best-known holiday destinations. Boulevard Kukulkán, the hotel zone, brings together resorts, restaurants, shops and nightlife along the coast.

Between the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, Holbox lies within the Yum Balam protected area. Its Maya name means ‘black hole’. Sandy streets, a low-rise setting and a slower pace give the island a feeling of separation from the mainland.

Off Playa del Carmen, Cozumel combines white beaches, sunset views, Maya heritage and coral reefs. Its former Maya name, Kuzamil, refers to the island of swallows.

Playa del Carmen sits between Cancún and Tulum on the Mexican Caribbean coast. Road connections from Cancún airport include transfers, taxis, shuttles and buses, with the central bus station close to Quinta Avenida.
↗Puerto Morelos
Between Cancún and Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos offers a quieter setting without being far from the region's larger towns. Smaller hotels cluster around the main square, while larger all-inclusive resorts can be found outside the centre.
